Chapter Chapter 6 in Directed Quantities in Electrodynamics, 2021, pp 199-264 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter introduces notions useful for considering interfaces between two anisotropic media. In Sect. 6.1, directed quantities in two-dimensional space are defined. It turns out there are twelve of them: six nontwisted and twisted multivectors, and six (of the same type) exterior forms. An interesting question is the passage from spatial to planar quantities. In order to preserve the information, for instance, the spatial vector has to be replaced by a pair: a planar scalar and a planar vector—all three are respectively nontwisted or twisted quantities. Similar replacements of spatial quantity by pairs of planar quantities are needed for other types. For the exterior forms, so-called restrictions to plane are necessary.
