Chapter 9 in Supply Chain Analytics, 2022, pp 319-370 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, we introduce logistics management including its main management activities, modes of transport in logistics, various logistics service providers, and global logistics management. In later sections of this chapter, we focus on logistics network design. First, location decision is discussed, and a simplified store location problem is demonstrated with PuLP in Python. Then, we move onto route optimization and introduce the classic travelling salesman problem (TSP), the associated TSP heuristics, and vehicle routing problem (VRP). Lastly, we use different algorithms to optimize the Cambridge Pizza Store routing problems in Python.
