Chapter Chapter 6 in Economics of Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Measures, 2022, pp 271-320 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Instead of the economic costs of terrorism calculated by accounting methods, this chapter discusses statistical estimations of various consequences of terrorism in different regions of the world, such as its impact on real per-capita income, growth of the economy, international trade, direct foreign investment, employment and wages, discrimination in the labor market, financial markets, tourism, mental and physical health, behavioral changes, etc. Various types of regression and estimation techniques bearing on these effects of terrorism are introduced.
