Chapter Chapter 11 in Counterexamples in Operator Theory, 2022, pp 169-177 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The functional calculus aims to define f(A) where A is a fixed operator, and f belongs to some classes of functions defined in domains containing σ(A), say. We already know that this is possible for any polynomial p. We also know how to define the exponential of A at an undergraduate level (this will be recalled in Chap. 13 ).
