Chapter Chapter 17 in Analysis and Quantum Groups, 2022, pp 475-500 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This technical chapter deals with the beautiful relation between coactions of locally compact quantum groups and subfactor theory. We show in detail how a repeated crossed product formation, starting with a certain type of coaction, yields a tower of factors contained in each other, and conversely, how the quantum group and coaction can be recovered from a certain type of abstract tower of subfactors.
