Abstract There are certainly legitimate needs for the privacy that so concerned cypherpunks. There is also no doubt that anonymity obscures illegal transactions. SatoshiNakamoto, Satoshi recognized a potential seedy underbelly to anonymity, but was not willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
