Whether in respect of the growing volume and utilization of data, the somewhat morbid role of life expectancy calculations in pensions and annuity products, the theory and application of modeling in insurance pricing, or the criticality of effective reserving and capital modeling in ensuring the ongoing resilience of financial systems; actuaries combine a robust set of technical skills with an ability to communicate effectively on topics relating to risk and uncertainty, and in doing so support an array of services essential to our society.
