Chapter Chapter 9 in Methods of Mathematical Physics, 2022, pp 209-224 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract As one can observe, there is a profound difference between the two-dimensional (n = 2) and the multidimensional (n ≥ 3) situations. This difference radicates in the fact that the fundamental solution of the Laplace operator in a two-dimensional case has two singular points: zero and infinity, which is not the case for higher dimensional cases.
