Chapter Chapter 18 in Shipping and Logistics Management, 2023, pp 281-287 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract There has been growing concerns on the sustainability implications of shipping and logistics operations in both practices and policy development. These concerns arise not only from regulators and the public due to the environmental and social damages caused, but there are also market pressures and an internal need for sustainability development. This chapter discusses the pressures encountered by the shipping and logistics industries for sustainability development, and the practices pertaining to economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, and social sustainability.
