Chapter Chapter 5 in The World Economy and Financial System, 2023, pp 87-103 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Türkiye is one of the emerging countries which faced many ups and downs since its foundation. Besides the feeling of confidence in its history full of global political victories and economic successes, a century-year-old country has also drawbacks of wrong political and economic decisions that put the country sometimes out of track. This chapter overviews the Turkish economy, evaluates the reasons and results of past financial crises the country experienced, and the strong signs of a new upcoming crisis at macro and micro levels.
