Chapter Chapter 25 in Tree Balance Indices, 2023, pp 341-344 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The aim of this chapter is threefold: First, we show how existing tree balance or imbalance indices can be used to generate new ones. Then, we discuss the normalization of all these indices in order to enable the comparison of trees with different numbers of leaves. Last, we compare tree balance indices to other ways of measuring tree balance that have been proposed in the literature, such as, for instance, scatter plots.
