Chapter Chapter 7 in Empowering Employee Proactive Behavior, 2025, pp 157-184 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract To heighten performance and adapt to the dynamic nature of the current business landscape, it is crucial for organizations to cultivate a work environment that actively promotes and supports proactive behavior among employees. Given the progressively intricate and ever-changing nature of modern work environments, it is imperative for organizations to strive for a competitive advantage by fostering ideal employee behaviors that goes beyond the duties mentioned in their employment agreements. This chapter centralizes the introduction of proactive behavior and relevant leadership styles to delve into select studies. To do so, the authors provide an amalgamation of proactive behaviors and prominent leadership styles to guide undergraduate and graduate-level students toward understanding the complex nature of both constructs. The authors discuss mutually shared and distinct characteristics of transformational, authentic, inclusive, and ethical leadership styles. The chapter concludes with suggestions for future studies.
