Chapter Chapter 1 in From Rings and Modules to Hopf Algebras, 2024, pp 1-33 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This book requires a certain familiarity with the notions of groups, rings, fields, and especially with undergraduate-level linear algebra. By convention, a field is a commutative ring with identity where all nonzero elements are invertible; a not necessarily commutative ring with identity where all nonzero elements are invertible is called a division ring or a skew field.
