Abstract:
Abstract Directive 2001/42/EC of 27 June 2001, adopted on the legal basis of Article 175(1) TEC (now Article 191(1) TFEU Title XX Environment: Vedder in J Environ Law 22:285–299, 2010), has constituted the first serious effort of the European Community with a view to provide for a high level of protection of the environment and to contribute to the integration of environmental concerns into the preparation and adoption of any plans and programs regarding agriculture, forestry, fisheries, energy, industry, transport, waste management, water management, telecommunications, tourism, town and country planning or land use.
