Chapter Chapter 1 in The Economic Value of Creative Mental Labor, 2024, pp 1-17 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this introductory chapter is to provide an overview of the book and introduce new concepts, such as “Creative Mental Labor of Laborer” (CML) and “Skilled Mental Labor of Laborer” (SML). These concepts are of crucial importance for both short-term and long-term growth. Creative mental labor is the origin or genesis, granted the presence of natural resources. It necessitates the contributions of “skilled” laborers, often termed “human capital” in mainstream analysis, as well as the contributions of “unskilled” laborers, exemplified by the eye and hand coordination of workers. These remarks imply that both the theory of value and price and the theory of growth need new approaches encompassing the “missing component,,” that is, “creative mental labor” or synonymously “creative abilities of the human brain,” in order to articulate and explain the real economics.
