Chapter Chapter 10 in Artificial Intelligence in Accounting and Auditing, 2024, pp 209-226 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had a significant impact on business accounting in Italy, focusing on improving operational efficiency, data analysis, and personalized services. The AI market is rapidly expanding in Italy, driven by investor interest and incentives provided by the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan). Forecast solutions, particularly in the context of Intelligent Data Processing, are leading the segment, with high demand for activities such as business planning, investment management, and budgeting due to current geopolitical conditions. The main challenges in this area are related to securing a budget and the lower level of digitalization in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In conclusion, the enthusiasm of Italian companies for AI solutions is evident in the significant percentage of organizations that are in the early stages of adoption or experimentation on the adoption curve. This is due to the increasingly complex tax and accounting regulations, the substantial volume of data requiring analysis, and the imperative need to ensure transparency, traceability, and accuracy in financial activities, making the integration of AI an essential requirement. This chapter discusses applications developed in collaboration with the AI-LOG consulting company.
