Abstract:
Abstract This chapter describes Glenn Ellison’s intellectual contributions to a wide range of areas of economics, including evolutionary game theory, theoretical and empirical industrial organisation, economic geography, finance and managerial incentives, the economics of education, the study of publishing practice and the role of economics within broader academic literatures. It also describes Glenn’s academic career, and some of his contributions to the success of MIT’s economics department and its PhD programme.
