Chapter Chapter 25 in Qualified Intermediary, 2025, pp 237-243 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter deals with the major fault line between the US and Eritrea) and the rest of the world. We describe the pitfalls and problems that flow from citizenshipcitizenship-based taxation (CBT) when compared to the residence-based taxation (RBT) used by the rest of the world. We update the reader on efforts to change the US CBT system to an RBT system that would allow the US to revoke its FATCAFATCA law and all its inter-governmental agreements (IGAs) and instead, adopt the AEoIAutomatic Exchange of Information (AEoI)/CRSCRS framework.
