Abstract:
Abstract This chapter analyzes the continued growth of cryptocurrency scams on social media platforms, including Discord, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Also discussed is the distinction between projects that are fraudulent by design and those projects that are legitimate but are used by criminals for illicit purposes and to execute frauds. The chapter concludes with an analysis of the growing number of cryptocurrency scams on the Telegram platform, highlighting concerns around tap-to-earn games such as Hamster Kombat.
