Chapter Chapter 13 in The Historical Evolution of International Business, 2025, pp 267-272 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The international business discipline has evolved substantially over the past five decades. Pioneers in this discipline saw the opportunity to establish a firm-level inquiry for going international, since much of the discussion around internationalization related to an industry or a country as a whole. Contributions of these pioneers included not just addressing the scholarly question of ‘why and how firms go international,’ but also business school curriculum development, institution building, fundraising, and developing a network of like-minded educators. Jim Goodnow was one of these pioneers, fulfilling all these roles and impacting the profession and the discipline of international business.
