Chapter Chapter 1 in American Economists and the Greek Economy, 1947-62, 2025, pp 1-5 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This book deals with interwar and more extensively with post-World War II economic developments in Greece and how these were dealt by foreign, mostly American, economists who cooperated with their Greek counterparts to restore monetary stability and growth in the Cold War context and up to the year when Greece was associated with the European Economic Communities. It provides an international political economy and a history of economic thought context to interpret the legacy of a foreign intervention in a country.
