Abstract: Abstract The chapter reviews the international and Greek economic developments up to the Wall Street crash and during the 1930s. It reviews the relations of Greece with the League of Nations, the creation of a Central Bank and policies after Greek default in 1932, with the aim to provide the background of the story that will unfold in the next decades.
