Abstract:
Abstract This chapter investigates the composition, breadth, and utilization of patents, underscoring the significance of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) in the administration of global intellectual property. It scrutinizes the patent lifecycle, extent, and assessment, accentuating the economic implications of various categories of patents. Furthermore, it evaluates Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) and their significance in licensing, competitive dynamics, and antitrust considerations.
