Chapter 85 in Handbook of Integrated Care, 2025, pp 1657-1697 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter argues how integrated care has found its way into the German healthcare system and how it has developed since its introduction. To shed light on the process of integrated care in Germany, the chapter starts with an overview of the general developments in the German healthcare system. This is followed by an excursion on the innovation fund, which can be seen as a motive for promoting integrated care, and a discussion of the new introduction of health regions.
