Abstract:
Abstract In the context of the profound changes brought about by the transition to a green and digital economy, industrial efficiency has become central to economic competitiveness in the EU. European strategies, including the European Green Deal and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, emphasize the importance of integrating innovation, research and development, and the sustainable use of resources into industrial processes to achieve emission reduction and sustainable economic growth targets. In this context, Romania faces major structural challenges, caused by both a low level of technological development and innovation and a high dependence on resource- and emission-intensive industrial sectors.
