Abstract:
Abstract This chapter continues the development of this theory of liberal democracy. Here, I analyze how FSC can account for the functioning of the economic system, with institutions such as private property, markets, and money, as well as institutions that aim to correct market failures, like antitrust legislation, labor law, and unions. I also examine, in light of FSC, the typical forms of state financing: taxation, public debt, and, in some cases, monetary issuance.
