Chapter 3 in Family Business, Socio-Emotional Wealth, and CSR, 2026, pp 67-119 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, the results of an empirical analysis of the relationship between socio-emotional wealth and corporate social responsibility in family businesses are presented. Specifically, it is hypothesized that the five dimensions of socio-emotional wealth—family control and influence, family members’ identification with the firm, binding social ties, emotional attachment, and renewal of family bonds to the firm through dynastic succession—impact the corporate social responsibility practices of family businesses. The results of the analysis confirm this hypothesis and are in line with those obtained from previous studies in the literature, which in this chapter are summarized in a review.
