Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, we consolidate the book’s core findings, demonstrating that circular economy and net-zero transitions in emerging economies are fundamentally shaped by institutional conditions. While digital technologies and green finance mechanisms offer critical tools, their effectiveness depends on regulatory capacity, governance coherence, and institutional legitimacy. Drawing on institutional theory and regionally differentiated evidence from Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, we highlight participatory governance, informal sector integration, and adaptive policymaking as foundational priorities. We present a multi-level, actionable policy roadmap, along with strategies for institutional strengthening, concluding that sustainable transitions require context-sensitive, inclusive, and capacity-focused governance reforms.
