A chapter in Mathematicians in Bologna 1861–1960, 2012, pp 197-208 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract A brief reconstruction is attempted of the scientific figure of Pietro Burgatti (1868–1938) by giving some detail on his more significant contributions to mathematics: general vector calculus, hyperbolic partial differential equations, analytical mechanics. An attempt is also made to put Burgatti’s contributions into the perspective of Italian mathematics of his times.
