Chapter Chapter 5 in Assembly Line Planning and Control, 2014, pp 37-45 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract An important step in planning the assembly of a product is ensuring all of the parts on the bill-of-material are available at the station locations at the start of the assembly process. This chapter shows how to determine the part requirements for single model lines, for mixed model make-to-stock lines, and for the mixed model make-to-order lines. Sometimes the station storage space is limited and therefore just the right quantity of stock is necessary.
