Abstract: Abstract Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes simulations have been carried out for the self-noise study of a Controlled Diffusion airfoil at chord Reynolds number of 1. 5 × 105. Two numerical setups of the anechoic open-jet facilities where experimental data on aerodynamics have been collected using hot-wire and particle image velocimetry measurements are investigated to capture installation effects and to compare different turbulent models. The installation effects are observed between different wind tunnel nozzle dimensions. Different turbulent models in simulations have been compared for such flow case. The kω − SST model shows better agreement with the experimental data at a reasonable computational cost, providing a reliable initialisation field and boundary conditions for future direct numerical simulation studies.
