Chapter 3 in Principles and Practice of Clinical Trials, 2022, pp 35-54 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract There are dozens of types of trials with specialized vocabularies, but the feature common to all is that they are comparative and focused on differences. If the trial involves just one treatment group, then the focus is on change from enrollment. If the trial is controlled, then the focus is on differences between the treatment groups in outcomes during and at the end of the trial.
