Abstract: Abstract In this paper a mapping procedure for the simulation of flow-induced vibrations in turbomachinery is presented. The exciting pressure fluctuations are computed in the frequency domain using harmonic CFD methods and are mapped to a structural FEM model of the considered turbine component utilizing the Fraunhofer SCAI software MpCCI FSIMapper. The frequency response analysis of the structure gives information about the resulting vibration amplitudes and allows realistic fatigue estimations of the flow-excited turbine component. The mapping process is designed for the special needs of applications using cyclic symmetric simulation models. The described method is applied to a two-stage axial turbine.
