Chapter Chapter 9 in Conformal Geometry, 2018, pp 175-251 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter introduces the applications of computational conformal geometry on medical image analysis research. Specifically, we focus on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) analysis of brain images where surface-based approaches attract continued interest due to their sub-voxel accuracy and the capability of detecting subtle local changes in brain anatomical shapes. Several research topics, including brain surface conformal parameterization, brain surface registration, global transformation–invariant brain shape descriptors, and point-to-point local brain surface deformation measurements, together with their experimental results, are detailed in this chapter.
