A chapter in Modeling, Simulation and Optimization of Complex Processes, 2005, pp 355-368 from Springer

Abstract: Summary We present a new global semi-deterministic recursive minimization algorithm based on the solution of over-determined boundary value problems. The paper also deals with low-complexity evaluation of gradient through incomplete sensitivity concept. The minimization algorithm is first validated on several multi-minima configurations. Then, its applications to shape optimization for microfluidic devices is presented.
