A chapter in Current Trends in High Performance Computing and Its Applications, 2005, pp 227-232 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract PLM application in manufacturing industry is becoming more and more popular. At the same time, integration in different enterprises with respective PLM system is also becoming more difficult, which have really affected and deterred the cooperation and product coordinate design and relative manufacturing activities and so on. The successful application of computing Grid provides a new approach for the development of PLM. The article puts forward an OGSA-based PLM architecture model (GPLM), which use key Grid technologies to resolve cooperative problems between manufacturing enterprises. GPLM doesn’t surround an enterprise’s management but focuses on interoperability during the dynamic processes of development and manufacturing between enterprises. Moreover, it focuses on the data exchange standard with STEP/XML that is internationally confirmed.
