A chapter in Traffic and Granular Flow ’03, 2005, pp 411-415 from Springer

Abstract: Summary Based on flow rate curves collected by two synchronized and separated cameras, the propagation and dispersion of pedestrian pulses were investigated. Microscopic simulations were performed to reproduce the real data. By means of a simple macroscopic analysis, it is possible to find microscopic parameters of the social force model. We found, for the case study that the ranges of these parameters are: A = 900−1500 N and B = 0.8−1.2 m.
