A chapter in High Performance Computing in Science and Engineering, Garching/Munich 2007, 2009, pp 275-289 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract One of the key open issues on the way to future fusion power plants is the characterization, understanding, and control of turbulent transport. Nonlinear gyrokinetic codes are used to investigate the underlying physical processes by means of massively parallel simulations. Recently, such codes have been employed successfully to assess the role of usually neglected fluctuations at very small spatio-temporal scales.
