Abstract: Abstract At the end of August 1861, 15-year-old Gösta and 26 other boys were enrolled in the first level, also called the first ring, at Stockholm Gymnasium. In the spring four years later, he and twelve other students at the school were deemed to be adequately prepared to take exams and graduate.
