Abstract: Abstract Decision making in water resources and environmental management is usually based on the preferences of more than one DM. If the evaluation of the alternatives with respect to all DMs can be quantified, then the suitable MCDA formulation of the problem can be used as shown in the former chapters. However, in many cases the human preferences are difficult to be quantified. In most applications such opinions are quantified by using some subjective measures, say for example, the worst possibility is indicated by 0, the best by 10, and all values are characterized by a number on the scale [0, 10]. Even in the case of quantifiable criteria, the uncertainty in the objective functions makes any approach questionable. In most cases, many researchers therefore raise serious questions about the objectivity of these methods.
