Abstract:
Abstract This article discusses different aspects of the effort to raise awareness of mathematics in the United States of America. After sketching the broader national dialogue about the contribution of mathematics and science to the nation’s prosperity and security, the article describes different constituencies that need to be reached and gives examples of ongoing activities and programs to engage them. Finally, the article provides several recommendations.
