Chapter 7 in Successful Decision-Making, 2013, pp 59-74 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Chapter 7 explains the first two steps of the heuristic decision-making procedure. In Step 1 “Verifying the discovered decision problem”, three questions which require answer before further work is done are introduced. Then Step 2 “Analysing the decision problem” is explained. The authors believe that it is not only the most difficult but also the most important step of the whole procedure. Therefore the different tasks are explained in detail, basing firmly on a recruiting problem and an acquisition possibility as examples of a threat and an opportunity problem.
