Abstract: Abstract The well known fact that the set EA of all endomorphisms of an abelian group A forms a ring has suggested the problem of finding necessary and sufficient conditions that an abstract ring be isomorphic to EA for some abelian group A. In two recent papers([2] and [3]) we have solved this problem for the classes of finite and bounded abelian p-groups. The present paper is concerned with the solution of that problem for p-groups without elements of.infinite height.
