Abstract: Zusammenfassung Gauß’ wissenschaftliche Tätigkeit in den Jahren zwischen 1818 und 1832 wurde von dem großen Projekt der Vermessung des Königreichs Hannover überschattet. Gauß stand diesem Projekt, welches sich insgesamt über fast 20 Jahre erstreckte, während seiner ersten Phase persönlich vor.
