Abstract: Zusammenfassung Zu Beginn seines achten Semesters als Professor in Leipzig erlitt Sophus Lie einen Zusammenbruch. Er ftihhe sich „von einer grenzenlosen Verzweiflung ergriffen“ und ließ sich in die recht weit entfernt liegende Nervenklinik in Ihen bei Hannover einweisen. Hier blieb er tiber sieben Monate.
