Abstract: Abstract The limited capacity of transmission Channels poses a severe restriction to many applications of modern communication technology. In particular sequences of digital images cannot be efhciently transmitted or stored without compression. The aim of this project is to develop, analyse and implement new wavelet techniques for image compression.
