Chapter Chapter 9 in The Method of Fractional Steps, 1971, pp 117-131 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In the preceding chapters several problems of mathematical physics were studied together with their solution, using the method of fractional steps. In this chapter an attempt is made to present a more general point of view and to discuss different methods of construction of schemes with fractional steps, as well as to define the method of fractional steps for a wide class of schemes.
