Abstract:
Abstract Conformai Field Theory (CFT) existed for a long time on the periphery of Quantum Field Theory (QFT). It got a very strong boost by the bootstrap programm of Belavin, Polyakov and Zamolodchikov [1]. Hundreds of papers were published since. CFT has conscripted new young and revolutionary devoters (call them the conformists to distinguish from die konformisten). New terminology and methodology, e.g. primary fields, vertex operators, operator expansion, mixing of states and operators is indispensable for the paper on CFT.
