Abstract: Abstract The symplectic and instanton Floer homologies are presented. When applied to a symplectomorphism on the space of flat connections on a Riemann surface and and for a 3-dimensional mapping cylinder of the Riemann surface, respectively, the resulting homologies are naturally isomorphic.
