Abstract:
Abstract As compared with short range models, hierarchical models of interaction show a more realistic behavior than mean field models concerning both equilibrium and nonequilibrium phenomena. One of the remarkable features of such models is the observation that for large, but finite, system size the cooperative effects are organized in multiple time scales and in fact this provides a caricature of the behavior of short range systems at successively larger spatial scales, cf. [5].
